Our Beloved Son-in-Law

We first met Simon on a visit to Caroline when they were both at Newcastle University. We took them on a drive as far as Bamborough Castle and we were very impressed with this tall handsome man. We were more impressed the more we got to know him after they married and when they had Sophie and Daniel. Simon was amazing he was highly active, extremely intelligent and very successful in his career. But most of all he was a devoted family man, virtually every school holiday he took the family away to some wonderful destinations. Sophie and Daniel have seen more of the world than us grandparents will ever see. He also arranged an extended family holiday when we all shared a large manor house in France and another at Centre Parks.

He was always very active, did the park run every Saturday with Larry the Labrador and he had his sailing boat, wind surfer and canoe. At home he created a large raised vegetable plot and had a lovely garden. He did a bit of DIY and last Christmas, even though he was in a lot of pain from that dreadful cycling accident, he made beautiful wooden plant boxes for our Christmas presents.

Simon we will never forget the pleasure and happiness you gave to the family and we will ensure that Caroline, Sophie and Daniel have a good future. You will always be in our hearts. Rest in Peace
