My Son

Created by Sally one year ago

Simon you were my firstborn. I carried you for 9 months, gave birth to you, fed and nurtured you to adulthood.

How could I ever forget teaching you to drive on Sunday afternoons in Tesco car park and the all pervading smell of fish in your clothes after working a shift on the fish counter at Tescos.

You were the first to fly the nest when you went to Newcastle university snd I was so proud of you when you graduated 4 years later. I remember staying on the coast at Cullercoats and we went for a drive to Kielder forest with you standing with your head out of the sunroof in the car.

In 1998 you went travelling to Australia and New Zealand and I'm so glad you didn't tell me about the bungee jump and skydive until you came back......and you didn't like heights!

There are so many happy memories, the day you married lovely Caroline, holding our grandchildren, Sophie and Daniel and watching them grow up through the years. The yearly calendars you made for us with the family photos of your many holidays abroad. Happy times spent with all the family, holidays, days out by the sea, walking Larry the faithful lab. Traditional Christmas celebrations with you setting light to the Christmas pudding! All those shared family meals with you sitting at the head of the table laughing at the banter, your witty remarks and occasional derisory comments.

All these memories will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Miss you son. God Bless and Rest in Peace.
