Story
Simon loved to ride his bike and enjoyed heading out at the weekends to explore. I am planning an epic bike ride in the Spring of 2023 as a tribute to Simon and his inspiring energy and sense of adventure. Cycle For Simon will start at my home village of Bramley in Hampshire and finish on the seafront in Whitstable, Kent where we both grew up. Much of our childhood was spent on or by the beach at Whitsable and in his adult years, Simon often brought his family back there to enjoy being on or by the water. If I have enough energy at the end of the bike ride I plan to run 5k along the promenade to complete the event. Simon enjoyed his weekly Parkrun in Orpington and this feels like a fitting way to complete the challenge.Updates

Only just heard the sad news of Simon’s passing. He was a good friend in our first few years at the Geoffrey Chaucer School (as it was back then). He taught me a lot about sea fishing and was funny, kind and thoughtful. He was also very clever and clearly destined for great things.
I remember us both having to walk back most of the way from Canterbury once when we were 11 or 12 because the school bus couldn’t make it through the snow. His legs were so long even then I think he found it a bit easier than me! He definitely helped keep moral high.
So nice to read the comments from friends and colleagues in his adult years. He obviously lived a full life until his unfortunate accident and I’m not surprised to hear that he helped so many people in their careers.
It was a pleasure to know you mate! Thoughts are with your family.
