Vikki and I both worked with Simon for years at CS, he was professional and extremely good at what he did, rarely complaining and regularly helping me out of various holes I had dug for myself. His ability to source an almost endless stream of graduate hires was something to behold. Outside work we were both lucky enough to do Orpington Parkrun with Simon - the over-ridding memory being his utterly mental dog straining at the leash and drowning out the entire briefing. Our recent sailing holiday was pretty much Simon's idea, it was not something we had really considered would actually be possible and we had little idea where to start but after a COVID induced delay we ended up on almost exactly Simon's recommended trip. I am glad I didn't take his well meaning advice of captaining myself as not sure I could have quite emulated him. Our thoughts are with Caroline, Sophie and Daniel, rest in peace mate
